Who We Are
Megan Garnhum Capone, FounderThe mastermind behind A Girl Must Shop, and recent bride Megan is a blog, design and marketing consultant and manages to single-handedly manage A Girl Must Shop in her free time. She is the ultimate shopper and is frequently complimented on her taste in clothes, handbags, and just about everything funky and cool. Megan appreciates the finer (read: expensive) things in life, but also loves to brag about the great deals she finds. Her style ranges from simple and classic, to wild and crazy, to cute and girly, depending on her mood. She's also a major chocolate addict, loooooves martinis and silver jewelry, and has a weakness for Hello Kitty. Her favorite colors are red, yellow, lime green, and orange.

Janet, Contributor
Janet, an up-and-coming photographer from the Boston area, satisfies her eclectic taste in food, fashion, and fun through her many travels! She spent a few years living outside of Tokyo, and over the years has also visited Okinawa, Sapporo, South Korea, Paris, England, Scotland, Mexico, Belize, and Jamaica, as well as many cities throughout the U.S. Perhaps her international flair explains why she usually seeks out products that are daringly different, or off the beaten path. She'll try almost anything once! Case in point: Janet's hairdresser recently put maroon streaks in her hair, not requested, but well-liked!

Laurie, Contributor
Laurie is a writer, blogger, photographer and teacher with a love for all things digital. Music, books, photography and new media are her passions, so she's always on the lookout for great books, cds, tech gadgets and photo gear. A careful shopper, she's a Target freak for everyday retail therapy and basic needs, including work clothes that can get ruined with minimal guilt. She takes it a little more upscale for great jewelry (usually sterling silver and semi-precious stones) and handmade, well-made clothes. She describes her style as "late suburban hippie", not always the norm in the dC metro area - another reason why she goes to NYC as often as possible. She's owned by a high-maintenance Boston Terrier, so cool pet supplies and services are another necessity. She travels frequently and loves finding one-of-a-kind treasures and tacky souvenirs on the road. Finally, she's a closet girly girl who grudgingly admits to a makeup and hair product obsession - and okay, perfume too. Thus, she cannot go into Ulta or to the MAC counter unsupervised. Find her a great, mid-priced, red wine and a delicious Italian meal, and she'll be your friend forever. Her personal blog is LaurieWrites and she is the contributing editor for pets and extended family at blogher.org.

Amy, Contributor
Amy works in front of a computer all day so she loves the convenience of online shopping! She has a thing for makeup and purses especially, but also absolutely LOVES books. Oh and did we mention she loves a good deal? She favors purples, mauves and other jewel tones. When she is not working (or shopping or both) she enjoys traveling the open road, photography, crocheting, reading and writing...just not all at the same time. Her guilty pleasure is watching a NASCAR race on Sunday. She is owned by a beagle called Roxy and lives happily in California.

Cynthia Corral, Contributor
Cynthia lives in San Jose, California with her two teenagers and various animals, all of which supply endless stories to entertain those that don't have to live with them. She hates the mall but has rediscovered a shopping love through the internet and has even bought a car on eBay while avoiding a graduate paper she was supposed to be writing. She works part-time in the Hi-Tech industry while working on her Masters in Mass Communication and spending every waking free moment at the gym. So you could say she's a little obsessive. Or a lot. She also writes for http://SanJose.MetBlogs.com and http://CQCentral.com.

Michele, Contributor
Michele is a study in contrasts. She can spend just as much time in the Nordstrom's shoe department as at REI and is as comfortable in business clothes as in kayaking gear (though she prefers the latter). Currently, she is trying to make her house look like a grown-up lives there, but she thinks that furniture costs more than it should. She prefers function over form and the clean lines of modern furniture. When she goes shopping, she knows what she is looking for and won't settle for something that isn't exactly right.

Shannon, Contributor
Shannon is a transplanted Nova Scotian, now living in Ottawa, but who hasn't lost the ability to dismember a lobster with her bare hands. She is currently creatively unemployed, but has had past lives in tourism and software, where she carried out tasks as diverse as technical support, sales support, training and management. Shannon and her husband own a Beagle named Beagle, which belies their level of creativity. Her passions include blogging and other writing, cooking and, by extension, eating, window shopping (which will be upgraded to just plain shopping once she has a job), reading diverse blogs/magazines (both paper and online) and other publications, environmental awareness and green living, and finding new and innovative ways to reincorporate the nap into everyday. When awake, her expertises include building and sustaining online communities and working with social media. To see more of Shannon, visit her blog at ThreeSeven.

Sarah, Contributor
Sarah is an art aficionado and promoter of beautiful things. She is interested in photography, fashion design and architecture. No, no, no, don’t hold your breath – she is not a new up-coming artist - she takes lousy pictures, can’t sew a button, and can’t draw two straight lines. But she can spot a talented artist or beautiful object from a 100-mile distance. Her new art think-tank “Crumpets & Muffins” is devoted to promotion of arts, artists, and beautiful things. Sarah loves traveling, and brings cooking recipes and fashion ideas from all the places she visits. She traveled around France, Germany and Ireland. Sarah also cooks. Her hobbies ( traveling and cooking are not hobbies for Sarah – she takes them very seriously) include classical ballet, animals and shopping. Sarah loves to shop but never develops an attachment to clothes and accessories. In search for a right item, she can shop for months without buying a thing. Some people don’t believe it, some suggest seeing a doctor. Sarah’s motto is “Your dress should show YOU” – as opposed to you showing your dress. She uses this motto in selecting her wardrobe. She will be happy to share her ideas on this subject with other readers.
