A Girl Must Vacay
I spent last weekend in Bliss. Well, actually I was in Provincetown, MA, but it felt like Bliss. My boyfriend and I spent the weekend at the Crowne Pointe Inn in Provincetown, MA and boy did we have a great time!
From beginning to end the experience was fabulous. The Inn was gorgeous and the location was perfect - right off Commercial Street - renowned for eclectic shopping and dining. On the second floor of a guest house adjacent to the main building, our room was cozy and nicely decorated. We had a huge, very tall four poster bed, complete with wooden steps to assist in getting in and out and the large bath featuring a large whirlpool tub.
On initial inspection of the room, we were delighted with a welcome gift including a letter of welcome, a chowder bowl and the Inn's famous clam chowder recipe. Wasting no time, we jumped right into the whirlpool bath which fit both of us with plenty of room to spare, so that it wasn't crowded even with the the Crowne Pointe Inn rubber ducky.
That evening we enjoyed the complimentary wine and cheese hour choosing from a wide variety of wines, beer and an assortment of cheese, crackers and pastries. We no sooner sat down that we were engaged in a lovely discussion with another couple staying at the inn. This hour transformed the Inn from a hotel to a home - we felt really welcome and part of a family.
Our package included dinner one night, which we enjoyed on our first night. Not only was the food amazing (my lobster ravioli was unlike anything I had ever tasted - with lots of fresh lobster meat and a tangy tomato sauce instead of a heavy cream that accompanies most lobster ravioli dishes), but the service was extremely friendly and impeccable. We even have a lively discussion with the couple seated next to us. We ended the meal with a decadent chocolate dessert which we had packaged up and brought back to the room.
Which brings us to turn-down service! We got back to our room and our bed was turned down and on our bed was a letter with the weather and menus for the next day as well as a sample of sleep balm. It's the little things that make it perfect!
The next morning we headed down to the complimentary breakfast, delighted to see a wide selection of foods including a daily special (eggs, bacon, and waffles) in addition to fruit, cereal, homemade granola, yogurt, fruit, pastries, toast, bagels, and muffins and your typical breakfast beverages.
Also part of our package, we enjoyed a couples massage after a long walk following breakfast. We felt pampered in robes and slippers and I nearly fell asleep on the warm soft massage table. How relaxing!
Turn-down service that night included a similar letter announcing eggs benedict for breakfast and left chocolates! Mmmm chocolate!
We ended our stay after breakfast (the eggs benedict were out of this world). The lady who checked us out was very nice and asked about our stay. She even gave me a little ducky to take home with me, as my boyfriend had mentioned that I fell in love with it.
I left the Crowne Pointe Inn with a great feeling, like I was leaving a friend's house after a weekend visit, looking forward to the next time.

Guide your way with Style
Do you love to travel, but dislike having to flip through the same travel guides your parents and grandparents use? Good news -- now you don't have to. StyleCity guides from Thames and Hudson are the ultra chic city guides for the young, discerning traveler. From New York to Paris, San Francisco to Rome and London to Istanbul -- just to name a few -- StyleCity guides can help you plan your next escape to some of the trendiest cities on Earth.
I love StyleCity because they contain the most gorgeous visuals; photography you will not see in any other guides. Thames and Hudson have taken conventional travel guides and turned them into books worthy of your coffee table.
StyleCity lets you in on the secret places locals don't want tourists to know about. The guides break down destinations with maps, restaurants, hotels, museums, shops and more.
I was given the San Francisco guide as a gift. Now, having been a resident of San Francisco, I didn't think there was anything I didn't know about it. StyleCity proved me wrong. And not only did it offer some of the tastiest insider treats, but it also did an excellent job of slicing up each neighborhood, so even someone from a small town would feel comfortable in this urban wonderland.
Whether you are a tried and true traveler, or just starting to explore this amazing planet, check out StyleCity guides. I guarantee you will find no other guides more visually stunning or containing the information you really want to know.

Every hotel tells a story
I love to travel, but the same old cookie-cutter hotels just don't do it for me. If you're going to spend hard earned money on a hotel, it better be worth it, right? There is one hotelier that always delivers -- Kimpton Hotels.
Kimpton Hotels is a boutique hotelier with chic and stunning properties across North America. Kimpton prides itself on providing discerning travelers with a unique, luxurious experience each time they stay.
I have stayed at two Kimpton properties, the Serrano Hotel and the Hotel Triton -- both in San Francisco. Each was completely different in style and form, but the level of service was excellent at both. From allowing us to check our bags hours before check-in, so we could start our vacation, to the fresh cookies, wine receptions and even tarot card readings at the Triton -- Kimpton is sure to provide you with ease and stylish comfort.
Each Kimpton property has its own style and vibe -- ready to match any lifestyle and preference. The Serrano is a luxury hotel in the middle of San Francisco's theatre district with rooms outfitted in rich reds and golds, and with a slight aristocratic flair. The Triton is a super-hip, funky hotel across from the Chinatown Gate, offering preternatural surroundings.
Kimpton properties are always close to the action, including shopping, restaurants and nightlife, so you urbanites (or those looking to be urban for a weekend) will feel right at home. All properties are eco-friendly and provide countless services and amenities, such as Aveda body products, spa services, high-speed Internet access, fluffy robes and so much more. And Kimpton Hotels welcome pets, so you don't have to leave Fido at home.

Don't hit the beach without it!
It's that time of year when all the magazines start running Summer's
Must Have Items. Not wanting to be outdone, I decided to tell you about
one of my own: Evian's Brumisateur Facial Spray.
From the outside the
bottle resembles that of hair spray, but the aerosol can instead
showers you with a cool mist of mineral water. No, it's not the latest
diet fad, but actually a great accessory for a hot day at the beach or
toting around the gym. The 10.5oz bottle also comes in a 5oz can and
1.7oz travel size. My love affair with this product goes back so far I
can't even remember how we were first introduced. But I do know that
over the years I've learned I can't live without it.
*Get a free 1.7oz can with any purchase at beautybodybath.com.
