Bring back a classic look in new style, with these d'Orsay pumps from Payless of all places! It's a modern variation on the old-style spectators, but this ain't your grandma's shoes. Nicely suited for the independent woman of today, with a cute bow that suggests just a hint of flirtatiousness in her character. Walking on clouds
I have a problem with quantity not quality when it comes to shoes. I often complain to my fiance about my knees and back, he suggested that I may want to spend more than twenty dollars on a pair of shoes *gasp*. You see, I had an unfortunate accident a few years ago that left me with a wonky back so I really had to get something that offered support and comfort for long walks.
So with my fiance's support (e.g. Christmas gift), I went to the best place to buy shoes; Zappos. I like the store because they give product reviews they say whether or not the shoes felt true to fit on width and size. Since I have a high in-step and wide little square feet, this is a must for on-line shoe shopping. Best of all? they have a mary-jane shoe category. I'm in heaven! But I digress. So I was looking at all the brands when the name "softwalk" caught my eye and after I read the reviews I purchased the cutest shoes. I waited a few weeks to write the review so I could break in these bad larrys. Well, they are heaven and I'm smitten! These are truly the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn.

Don't you wish everything was so Simple?
The first entry from my sister Tara.
Thumbing through a Eddie Bauer catalog (one of my favorite places to shop) recently, I see them. They're nothing fancy, not too trendy, just very simple sneakers. Or are they shoes? I'm not sure exactly what you call them, but heck, they were kinda cute.
You have to understand I am not the type to buy shoes like these, ever! I normally stick to the old trusty New Balance running sneaker that is comfy and reliable. So stick to what you like and what works for you, right? Well, I kept going back to the page with these shoe-sneaker things. Should I? Shouldn't I? Until finally I said to myself, "you know what, I am going to get them! They're on sale for $39.99, so what the heck!"
When I found them on my doorstep not to long after, I was surprised to see a Simple brown box. I opened it and picked them up and they were so light. Ahhhh, but how do they feel? I put them on and I heard my little feet sigh. I swear! They were instantly wearable, and ridiculously comfy. I noticed on the box they were not Eddie Bauer shoes but actually from Simple; a nice little shoe company out of Santa Barbara. Bottom line? Good Shoe + Good Company = Happy me!! Ohhh and happy feet, too!!

Confessions Of A Flip Flop Virgin
It's true! I have never owned a pair of flip flops! When I tell people this I get the same jaw dropping response, "Really?" Well, I have decided to take the plunge and free my feet. With upcoming travel plans that include the beach I wanted something comfortable and open.
In the great search I found the perfect flip flop. These Havaianas flip flops are so pretty. The description-> "Soft as marshmallows, light, and highly durable." All of which they attribute to their, "Highly guarded secret rubber recipe," Hmmm! I especially like the flowers and from the reviews they are also very comfortable. I can't wait! There are so many styles to choose from, check it out at My Shoe Store.

The search for the perfect sneaker

They called to me from the window at Journeys. I've never been a huge fan of patchwork. Nah, I used to make fake gag noises at Janet's patchwork obsession. I guess it's rubbed off. Once I met these shoes, I just couldn't help myself. Well, I could. I didn't actually buy them (I'm still trying to justify the $50 for a pair of Keds).
Then I saw these at Macy's and definitely could not justify the $80 price tag. But aren't they cute! Ooooh, I just found this second pair online. Awwww. Je voudrais.

But THEN I just discovered this pair of Skechers Cali "Sunsets-Hermosa Beach" Slip-On Sneakers and without a doubt I knew that I could justify the $49. Why? Well, they're cuter and look a heck of a lot more comfortable than the Keds. I'll be able to wear them more often and get more use out of them.

Go Bonkers for BOGO
Do we all know about BOGO? It's a famous sale at Payless
where you can buy one item and get the second item half price.
Now Payless already has some really inexpensive shoes. I can go in there and grab three pair for the cost of one inexpensive pair at a department store. I'm a huge bargain-hunter, so I live at Payless.
I know what you're saying. Payless? And I agree with you, but you'd be surprised by the cute shoes they have out nowadays. Give it a try, you might find yourself addicted!

My first word was shoe
No kidding. My mother said so.
My new obsession is skimmers and flats. Very comfortable, cute, so many different colors and Old Navy makes it so affordable to buy a few pairs a time! I love that they are versatile; I've worn them with dress capri pants, jeans or cute little summer skirts. And since I have an aversion to the flip-flop (which they have a ton!) they are a summer must for me!

Believe it or not; you'll be walking on air!
Like my fellow contributor Darlene, I was never much of a flip flop person. I said the same thing every flip flop virgin says - "I just don't like having anything between my toes!"
But thanks to Janet (a.k.a. flip flop addict), I discovered Tevas. Life will never be the same again. I always wondered how Janet would want to wear flip flops even in the winter and now I know. These things are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. It's like walking on air, I swear!
Now you, with the sneakers and sock on, go get some Tevas! And I don't want to hear any whining about your toes. They feel GOOD. Trust me!

Say good-bye to stinky sandals!
You know the one, the stinky smell coming from your sandals and or shoes.
OK, so maybe you are one of those lucky few whose sandals do not stink. But for the rest of us, I found this really nice spray - Paxton's Sandal & Shoe Saver. I was a little hesitant buying this, but I figured anything is better then to keep throwing away my sandals and buying new ones. So I go it and followed the directions on the bottle. And to my amazement the dirt and ickiness just disappeared. Wow.
The real test came when I wore the sandals. Well let me tell you I have been wearing these sandals all week and they have not started to smell again, yet! Very nice!

If The Shoe Fits...
and it's comfortable, looks good and you can work loooong hours without your feet killing you, BUY THEM! I consider myself a good judge of shoes because I often spend many hours on my feet. I bought my first pair of Dansko shoes a few years back and they're amazing! They do require a brief "break-in" process because the shoe actually molds to the shape of your foot. My top two fall picks? Yes, I would like two pairs-> Dansko Mandolin & Dansko Myla! And to top it off, they have the Seal of Acceptance from the American Podiatric Medical Association. I consider my feet very important and I like to treat them good! Available online at Onlineshoes.com with free shipping! I signed up for their email and just received a $10 off online coupon for Dankso shoes!

Not For Sale. The shoes that will make you walk
Ladies, this is a time to take a short break from shopping. A treasure is awaiting you at the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) in Boston! A one-of-a-kind shoe exhibit "Walk This Way," will take you from ancient Egyptian and Nubian sandals to contemporary wedges with rococo carved heels from MIU MIU's most recent collection. But you've got to really walk to see all of them. You see, they are cleverly placed throughout the MFA's galleries to illustrate their relationship to other works of art - paintings, furniture, etc.
I went there on the first day, and had a blast. A lot of people kept asking: "Where is that shoe collection?' and were sent running all over the museum. It looked like Easter egg hunt there. It was not easy to find them. My trip turned out into two-hour marathon ... but it was fascinating, and think of all the ice cream and pastries you can eat afterwards, and not feel guilty! If you don't do marathon - no problem, take it easy. The exhibit runs through March 23, 2008. Plenty of time - and plenty of ice cream ahead!

Take your toes to Santa Cruz with Lily Holt
My feet dig sandals - it's true. I can tell they smile when they hit Spring air. Shhh! Don't tell them, but I have a surprise for them as soon as the temperature starts to feel like Spring - these lovely Santa Cruz flippity-floppity flip flops from Lily Holt.
They're the perfect sparkly sandal for Spring - in silver with gorgeous clear quartz. They are perfect paired with a pretty little subdress or your casual wedding dress.
So now that it's Spring, what will you be wearing?

Spring out some new dresses and shoes
This weekend I was inspired by the gorgeous Spring weather that I did a bit of virtual window shopping. I hit the shoe department (as usual) and just HAD to find some dresses to match. I want them all. Which is your favorite?

Chocolate sandals? Yup!
You can't eat them, though. Well, I suppose you could if you really wanted to, but I'm sure you'd much rather wear them.
I just discovered these Pala chocolate sandals from Cobian. I had never heard of them before, but they have a fabulous selection of sandals for women, men and kids.
They've got a small selection of adorable shoes for girls and a little birdie told me that they're coming out with an even bigger selection for the fall, so be on the look-out. You'll want to be the first to grab 'em when they come out!
Grab these Pala chocolate sandals and many more Cobian footwear at Zappos.com. or check out Cobian's web site for local retailers.

Fashion and function in one shoe
I buy a lot of shoes. But just because I buy them, doesn't mean I wear them. I have a closet filled with shoes I've only worn once because I just can't bring myself to suffer the torture of sore feet and blisters or the indignity of limping home after a night out because my shoes are slowly draining me feet of all feeling.
I recently bought a pair of shoes that not only look great and has a heel (a bonus for me as I'm only 5 feet tall) but that can actually be walked in without causing excruciating pain. Terra Plana makes stylish, sexy and comfortable shoes out of recycled leather or sustainable material.
I bought the Kashmir and I love it. The heel is slim but sturdy and the rubber on the sole makes walking or standing for long periods of time a lot more comfortable than doing so in most heeled shoes. This particular style is open on one side, which is a very flattering look for many a foot.
Terra Plana makes shoes for both men and women and the styles available are extensive. It's a great bonus that the company is environmentally conscious. I'll definitely be buying more from them, especially heels!

Stay stylishly warm this fall
Ready for fall? I sure was when I saw Charlotte this adorable pair of boots from 100-year-old Australian boot maker, Warmbat's Koz Collection. Don't they look cozy?
You have no idea! These babies are lined with Luxurious "A" grade sheepskin and the footbed has "Memory Foam" cushioned that's removable and washable. You'll feel as if you're walking on clouds.
They're absolutely perfect for the winter, too. Here in New England, our winters are cold and very snowy, so a pair of good, warm, waterproof boots is an absolute necessity.
Lucky us that these fashionable babies are waterproof and have an extreme weather barrier system to boot!
Me? I dig the red, but if you like a more subtle look, check out the brown and black options as well. Definitely stop by Warmbat.com, though; they have a huge selection of footwear - boots, shoes, slippers and sandals - for the entire family.
