Gorgeous hand-dyed yarn for the knitter in your family
I love craft supplies. And while I personally don't knit (I don't have the coordination for it) I do crochet and have a hardcore yarn fetish! On the top of my Christmas list this year? Some Perfect Day Yarn. Each skein is hand dyed and is only available in small runs. I think her colors are so vibrant and gorgeous...and I think it is awesome many of her colorways are inspired by poems. My favorite by far is the Time of Fire Free Verse Sock yarn as well as the tiger eye stitch markers that she makes by hand as well. I also love that this little online shop is a small home-based startup company!! Perfect Day Yarn would be a great gift for the knitter (or crocheter) you love.

Big Pimp'n in my Chevy Malibu
When my husband bought an SUV I adopted his VW golf and it turned out to be a mistake. It was a little loud, a little clunky, a little stiff and way too much standard (I'm getting too old for a stick). So I've been shopping for a car for about six months or so. I wanted a roomy mid-size sedan that was quiet and comfortable and if you read my profile; I am cheap, well frugal. That makes things REALLY difficult. I drove every 2004-2006 used sedan that was under 15k. I fell is love with a 2002 Jaguar x-type and my husband said NO!
So whats a girl to do? Look harder.
However; whilst looking, I got into a minor accident putting the search on hold for a month. I always tell myself "everything happens for a reason" and this time proved so. The 2008 Chevy Malibu was rolled out at my local dealership. Then I saw it up close and personal at a local mall and then I read the reviews.
This vehicle has it all: style, value, performance, economy, and for the first time in many years, the promise of pride in your purchase. - intellichoice
Most read like this. So I marched down to my local Chevy dealership for a test drive (if you happen to be in the area ask for my man Marc S. and tell him Krista sent ya). It was love at first drive. I leased the car for the same amount I budgeted for a used car. Unfortunately, I am not an automotive expert but I'll tell you my little peanut gallery thoughts. My favorite thing is it's quiet and I'm talking ridiculously quiet . I do not hear trucks, the swishing of cars passing in the slush/rain, wind, engine noise, etc outside this car. The interior is so PRETTY; it is simple w/clean lines nice lighting and every button is placed appropriately.
I opted for the "cheaper" 4-cylinder base model (around 20K) that comes standard with everything including automatic, cruise control, traction control, OnStar free for a year and an XM radio w/a free three month subscription (80's and 90's programed in within the first minute, of course). Seriously!
Now, If I could just find a way to work out of my car.
