My kitty needs a My Doggie Blankee for Christmas!
OMG, I am so in love with My Blankee Blankee's for babies. They are the softest, prettiest and cutest things. I love 'em, I could get a big one for me but they cost an arm and a leg. I have no problem spending the coin for others but for myself, I am totally frugal! Enough said!well I was cruising there site because I scored a My Blankee for my nephew for $15 at TJ Maxx so I had to run to the site to see what it was selling for. I am proud to report that I saved $51, top that! HAHA
So I was looking and came across the My Doggie Blankee stuff or in my case, it would be used on my new kitty. Again, I'll spend the coin on the kitty without batting an eyelash, unless a cute guy was watching then maybe I wouldn't. So I am proud to report these are super cute and your doggie & my kitty can totally rock these. If you look at the press kit, you'll see some of the celebs that scored theirs for free! No fair!
My Doggie Animal Print Sweater in pink & black zebra $20-30
My Blankee Blankets $31-154

Ladies Start Your Engines (NASCAR clothes...for girls!!!)
It is no secret that nearly half (I believe current figures are somewhere around 40% or so) of all NASCAR fans are female - so chances are you have a female NASCAR fan somewhere on your list! Unfortunately most NASCAR gear found at your local stores are - let's face it - manly. Well have I found the site for you!! Track Couture is the brain child of Lisa Heros- who were disappointed at the selection of NASCAR apparel available to women. She started by making shirts for her friend and thus a clothing line was born.
Being a NASCAR fan myself I LOVE the Track Couture clothing lines. I can support my favorite drive (Tony Stewart) in clothing that is made for a woman (girly and pretty). The feature driver specific clothing (for instance Tony Stewart and Carl Edwards) as well as general race inspired designs. There is also clothing for young girls and infants (I will soon be picking up the I Am Tired onesie and matching bib for my nephew due in March).
They have lots more items available for that girly-girl NASCAR lover in your family (um family- that would be me!).

Vosges Caramel Toffee
If you have a sweet tooth this season, Vosges Caramel Toffee will be sure to satisfy it! Great for a gift or to have on hand for serving guests, this is some delicious stuff! Another good idea--their Red Fire Pecans; just a little spicy, a little salty and a little sweet...and a LOT delicious!
Their caramel marshmallows look great, too and their exotic caramels, for the adventurous at heart, are sure to please! Mmm I'm hungry now!
Also makes a great hostess gift. You'll be the hit of the party!

Perfect Gift: Design a Custom Starbucks Card for your Coffee Lover!
Here is the perfect gift for that Starbucks lover you know - design a personalized Starbucks gift card. The process is simple. You start out by picking the basic look of the card from three basic looks (soon to be four). You then can customize the card to the specific person you are giving it to. I love this idea. I have already ordered a couple. You must order the custom cards online- however you can purchase a voucher in-store if you would rather let the recipient to personalize their own card.
To extend the magic of the season year-round you could make your new personalized card a "magic" Starbucks card by setting it up with an auto-reload! I got a card for my birthday that is set to auto-reload on the 14th of every month by my friend. It is the yummy gift that keeps on giving all year!!

Don't pass up Pass the Pigs!
When my nieces spent the weekend recently they wanted to play a game, when they came out of the game closet with Pass the Pigs I could not stop laughing.
Why? I've had the game since the early 90s and it's never been open. I have no idea why we waited this long to open it. But once they opened it, we had the best time ever playing this very addicting, simple game and inexpensive game (only around $9).
It brought back memories of playing games with my family and friends. Now, my nieces are sharing those same memories of their own. I'm going to buy it for them for Christmas so they can play it at their house.
It's a great gift for If you have young kids, young family members or someone who's young at heart, this gift would be the best game for them to get.
Pass the pigs comes in a small case that holds two pink rubber pigs, a small pencil & pad of paper. The directions are very simple and it even shows you the positions the pigs need to be to score points. Whats even better it does not take up a whole lot of room and can be played pretty much anywhere.

Little Angry Girls say, "Get Your Own Bag, Bitch!"
Admit it, sometimes being a bitch is fun. You know what's even more fun? Being a Little Angry Girl bitch - it's just somehow much more excusable! My fellow contributor Janet and I were walking around Boston on Friday when we happened upon a selection of Little Angry Girl totes.
I wanted them all, but this Get Your Own Bag Bitch tote is my very favorite. Made out of sturdy cotton, this tote measures 14"x12"x4" and has a super secret side pocket (Oops! I guess it's not secret anymore!).
Pick up a Get Your Own Bag Bitch tote on the Little Angry Girls Store for $24.99 or at Hippy Chix Shop for a cool $20.
Grab one for a friend, or as a holiday treat for yourself, but you
should order now because these sassy bags are sure sell out!

Letter to Santa from a Dooney bag fiend
Dear Santa,
I know it has been awhile since I wrote you but I think I have been extremely good this year! I would love a new Dooney. Preferably the cute new slim shoulder bag in Patched Plaid. It is my very favorite of the newer bags and I really want one. I know it is a little bit costly, but I would be totally fine if that were my only gift this year, because I love it that much. I know these might be in demand this year so if you run out of the patched plaid I also wouldn't mind the Crossword medium seckio in melon or seafoam. Either would be nice. And maybe...if you think I have been really really good you could throw in a the Dooney Hearts keychain and/or the DB Notebook in red or blue I would be the most excited girl in the 'hood!
Love,
Amy

Oompa!
I was looking for something special for my niece (who has three other loving Aunties) and was trying not to have repeat gifts! Oompa Toys is a fabulous store that sells unique, natural, wooden and European toys as well as baby toys. I had so much fun shopping here! Finally I stumbled upon the cutest tea set, ever! All wood and painted perfectly with non-toxic paint; this will make me #1 Auntie, for sure! They have editor's picks and a decent sale section too.

Scentology scents make you smell AND feel good!
I love natural scents, especially scents that are not too floral. I have just added all three Scentology fragrances to my Christmas list because not only do the scents sound great, but they have a dual purpose:
- The orange scented Bliss Booster increases happiness and feelings of well-being.
- The peppermint scented Endurance Enhancer helps increase physical energy and performance.
- The vanilla scented Crave Control curbs cravings for carbs.
They come in cute slim bottles that fit easily into your pocket or purse and can be sprayed on like a perfume or into the environment. I originally saw them in a Target catalog (my local target doesn't carry them) but they are all available at target.com!

Seriously, what would we do without Sephora?
I posted about it last year as well and here it is again, in all its splendid glory. I bought this for two people last year because I had no clue what they liked or wanted. Sephora's scent sampler certificate set is perfection in a gift.
Samples include: Aquolina Pink Sugar, Badgley Mischka, Guerlain My
Insolence, Hard Candy Fragrance, Hilary Duff With Love...Hilary Duff,
Juicy Couture, Philosophy Inner Grace, Stella McCartney Stella, Vera
Wang Princess, and Givenchy Very Irresistable Givenchy Sensual Eau de
Parfum, plus an added gift of a refillable atomizer.
How it works:
1. Purchase the Fragrance Gift Certificate - For Her either as a gift, or for yourself.
2. Sample the fragrances and choose a favorite.
3. Fill in the enclosed voucher.
4. Bring the voucher in to your local Sephora store and redeem it for the fragrance you've chosen.
Please note:
1. The voucher is redeemable at Sephora stores only (not valid for online use).
2. Only original vouchers will be honored (photocopies will not be accepted).
3. The voucher
cannot be replaced if lost or stolen
4. The Fragrance Gift Certificate - For Her is not available for sale or redemption in Canada.

Cool movies on the cheap with Netflix!
In case you didn't know (because I didn't), Netflix sells their used DVDs. This is a perfect gift for my father who is impossible to buy for. He has a HUGE DVD collection, I would say its sort of a hobby for him, so this has been a great find for me. Shipping is free so costs are low and DVDs are from $5.99 - $9.99. I just bought four movies for $32, along with some pajamas, popcorn and chocolate he is going to be one happy Pop!

Save the earth with this Earth Friendly Tote - one plastic bag at a time
Ever since I saw An Inconvenient Truth I've been trying to be a little more gentle with mother earth. One of the things I'm doing is carrying reusable tote bags everywhere I go. This handmade Earth Friendly Tote Bag made with organic cotton by Julie-Marie has definitely come in handy.
I leave it in my car, and whenever I hop into a store (which happens, like, ALL THE TIME!) I roll it up and stick in my purse. When the time comes for my purchases to go into a plastic shopping bag, I whip this baby out and decline the shopping bag. While it puts one less plastic shopping bag out there in the earth, it's much sturdier and larger than most shopping bags and even better - I'm not adding to that annoying bag of plastic bags that live in the closet.
And it makes for a great Christmas present for any earth loving recipient on your gift list.
Why not check out all the other cool stuff at Julie-Marie, they've got makeup bags,
tote bags, drawstring bags,
tissue holders and a whole lot more.

It's a wonderful life after Garmin!
Once upon a time I had no direction. I'd hop into the car to go somewhere new and I'd get completely lost. I'm usually a great navigator, but even the best navigator can get lost when they don't know where they are or where they're going. I would try, though. I'd faithfully put my trust in Google Maps, yet even equipped with the best, most accurate map in the whole wide world, I can still get lost if I don't know where I am.
I had heard all the wondrous things about GPS, but I always thought they were too expensive for me until the lovely Janet bought a phone with GPS (which she nicknamed Jessamyn) and I just thought that was the greatest thing ever.
I did some research and realized that GPS units were nowhere near as expensive as I thought with some starting around $150. Then I contacted Garmin and they were kind enough to let me test this new love of my life, my baby, the "Garmy" Garmin nüvi 250W 4.3-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator (that's right baby, that's you - who's your momma, that's right!).
Obvs you can tell that I'm happy with it. So happy, in fact, that I just can't bear to part with it (Yes, sweetheart, parting will be such sweet sorrow). So what about it makes me happy? Oh. So. Much!
- It tells me where I am.
Because really, most of the time I really have no idea. - It helps me find where I'm going.
It's got a huge database of businesses, services, and just about anything else I can think of - or any address anywhere. - It talks to me.
It gets lonely in the car sometimes, and I suspect I'm not alone here. I especially love that Garmy has a voice (one that I discovered could change from American English to British English and a whole lot of other languages I was afraid to even try). - It tells me when to take a turn.
I get distracted sometimes (Ok, Janet, a LOT!) [only sometimes, Meg!] and I have missed a turn on more than one occasion. My Garmy's fancy GPS functionality knows exactly where I am and tells me exactly when I have to take my next turn, 30 seconds before my turn as well as just as I have to take my turn. This is where Google Maps fail - a piece of paper can't tell me where I am and when I should be turning. - It helps to keep me safe.
Have you ever read printed directions or a map while driving? Yeah, me too. But dude, that shizz is dangerous - you could hurt yourself! Garmy, my dearest, gently points me in the right direction without having to take my eyes off the road. - It corrects me when I make mistakes.
Sometimes I don't listen to what Garmy tells me to do. I'm human, I'm not perfect. But what I love about my Garmy is that it doesn't get angry with me when I make a mistake. If I take the wrong turn or miss and exit, it immediately recalculates my route and tells me how to get back on the right route - without raising its voice [unlike me, sorry Meg! - Janet]. - It lets me choose my ride.
I love cutesy little features. My Garmy comes with a few standard cars to choose from (I like the monster truck car!) but I can also download additional cars from the Garmin Garage. How cool is that? - It knows where home is.
And everywhere else I choose to go. I can input my home address and press one button to navigate home from anywhere I am, making me feel all cozy inside. It also remembers the places that I go so I don't have to search for them over and over again. - It silences back seat drivers.
Garmy baby has saved my fiance and I many, many fights in the mere 30 days that I have used it. You see, we both know where we're going yet we rarely agree on how to get there. We don't fight about the directions anymore because Garmy knows it all. I like to put the power in the hands of those who know all the answers. (And before Garmy came along I had the power - that's right!) - It empowers me.
Before I fell in love with Garmy at first sight, I was always reluctant to drive into the city (Boston) myself. It's such a sissy thing, but the city is just so complicated to navigate with six gazillion one way streets, constant construction, traffic, and crazy drivers to deal to boot. Add reading a map or directions to that and you've got a recipe for disaster. I know, I've been there and it always ends up with someone crying (usually me). With Garmy by my side I'm no longer afraid of the big bad city. In fact, I love it. I feel so powerful and confident heading into the city now. In fact, I've been there much more often since Garmy is there to help.
It's very reasonable priced, too. The Garmin web site lists the suggested retail price at around $375, but I know that you can get it at Amazon for about $280. What a freaking bargain, eh?
Be sure to check out the entire family of affordably-priced models. You know you want to!

ACE his (or her!) gift this holiday!
We all know that guys wait until the last minute to do their shopping - but I'm sure quite a few of us shopping maniacs are still running around trying to find the perfect gift. I'm usually really good about getting it all done within a few weeks of Christmas, but my fiance is just so hard to buy for. He doesn't want, need, or even ask for anything, and short of plunking down a grand for a HDTV, I'm out of ideas.
Then it hit me - he loves working around the house and in the yard - I'm SURE he could use some tools or something that would be used on the lawn. But since I politely refrain from yard work I haven't the slightest clue what he would want. But I do know that a gift certificate would be definitely useful. We've got an Ace Hardware right down the street (I think it's his second home!) and I think I'll head on over and pick him up a gift certificate - easy peasy. Gift certificates too impersonal for ya? Head over to the Ace Hardware Gift Guide and you just may happen upon the perfect gift. Just be sure to keep the receipt!
