Catch Phone Offenders with These Cell Citation Pads
Don't we all know someone with annoying cell phone habits? The person who's a non-stop talker, or has a ring that sounds like a psychadelic rock concert? Everyone will thank you when you hand the perpetrator one of these "Cell Citations," a ticket that lets that certain someone know exactly what is so bothersome about their incessant ring-a-ding-dings. Even if you don't have the guts to act as cell police, you can still get a good laugh out of these, and maybe even catch yourself in an offense or two!

Design yourself at DesignHerGals.com
I was talking amongst a group of friends when someone mentioned Designhergalscom - a site where you can design stationery, stickers, t-shirts, and a tons of other fun stuff that looks just like you! She sounded very excited and went on about all the possibilities.
I visited and the web site immediately became ridiculously addictive. You start out in a dressing room, you then choose a gal type, eye color, skin tone, hair style, and hair color. Then the fun begins! Choosing your outfit—tops, bottoms, shoes, and then accessorize to your hearts content.
Once your gal is made they offer a ton of personalized unique gifts for almost any occasion (a fun gift for yourself-ish, too). T-shirts, aprons, business cards, e-cards, note cards, mugs, stationary, invitations and much more!
Now for the serious stuff. The passion and purpose of design her gals is to raise funds and awareness for Stage 4 breast cancer patients. Stage 4 Breast Cancer means that the cancer has spread to other parts of the body such as the lungs, liver or bones. Stage 4 is a "critical stage, when health insurance benefits may be reduced or canceled - and hospice care is hard to find. It is their goal to raise $1 million in three years for the Gal to Gal Foundation.
And if thats not reason enough? 15% off for agirlmustshop.com readers. Just enter MUSTSHOP (capital letters) in the promotional box and hit apply. Sale ends May 9, 2007!

Back to school for big kids at Paperchase, Levenger's and The Container Store
Next week I'll be back in school full-time for the first time in more than a decade. Besides the obvious draw of the learning and career opportunities and all of that good stuff, I have to admit why I'm really doing it.
I am addicted to school supplies.
I've always written, so it's no shock that I love cool pens, but it goes beyond that. Paper, folders, planners - you name it. Maybe it's the promise of starting over that a new notebook promises, or the sense of order that a new binder suggests to my paper-challenged self. Like most things in life, I'd say it's a combination of factors that up to my status as a fool for office and school supplies.
Oh well. All things considered, markers in funky colors and five-subject notebooks are one of my more benign vices. So I've taken a look around and located some "grown-up" options for taking yourself back to school (or to the office, for that matter) in style.
Paperchase is a UK-based company that carries some of the coolest gift and stationery items around. The keyword for Paperchase is "color".
You can't be afraid of a jazzy pattern here, or a butterfly on your notebook there. I may not bring this fun pencil case into my grad school classroom, but I'd definitely keep it on my desk at home.
Online shopping for Paperchase is only available in the UK through AmazonUK. Stateside, you can find their merchandise in the gift and greeting card section of most Border's Books and Music stores. A recent stroll through a location near me turned up a ton of pens, notebooks, and other supplies that would work for me at home or school.
Levenger's - "tools for serious readers" - is a great source for beautiful (although pricey) portfolios, notebooks, furniture, briefcases and totes, and, of course, reading tools. Their online sale section, however, has plenty of fun and more affordable options for students.
This "desktop turnabout", for instance, is a compact turntable that elevates the book and lets you turn around. It's a great multi-tasking tool, especially for holding a book open while taking notes. It's currently marked down to $34.95 from $48.00.
The Container Store has a fabulous assortment of office and back-to-school supplies. Items like these cool Circa folders are part of the current Summer Sale, priced at $4.99 online for a pack of four.
And since multiple electronic tools are part of our lives these days, these cable ids are indispensable for keeping up to eight different cords separated by color. $6.99 is a steal compared to the time it takes to unravel cords and follow them back to the source.
I've stocked up. Now I just need to get to work!

Knock knock, KnickKnock!
If you're like me, you're not much of a library goer. I like to have my own books. This way, if I love them, I can pick them up anytime and curl up with them on rainy afternoons. Or, if I hate them, I can throw them across the room, or perhaps even burn them, without worrying about having to account for the damage. As the book buyer, I've become known among my friends as the person to Borrow Books From. Usually I get them back.. but once in a while, they're gone for good.
Enter KnickKnock and their Personal Library Kit. All of the tools a real library uses - pockets, cards, stamps, even "Reference Only" stickers! The only downside is, there are only 30 envelopes per kit - and I have considerably more books than that. Still, if you can get the most frequently borrowed books encoded and ensure they're returned, it'll be worth your while!
KnickKnock has other brilliant items too. For a busy lass like yourself who doesn't always have time to whip up a five course dinner with wine and espresso, the Takeout Menu Organizer ensures that not only will you always be able to find the menu and phone number for that kickass Thai place down the road - you'll also be able to organize all your menus into types of cuisine, take notes of when you ordered from where and how good the service was, and get tips on tipping. What could be better?
A Great Idea notepad, that's what! It's happened to us all... in the middle of a busy day, you think of a Great Idea, but you're too busy/stressed/pen and paperless to write it down. No more! The Great Idea pad not only gives you a place to record your creations, it also gives you a spot to rate your idea's greatness, record the next steps and note whether you acted on it. Now that's a great idea.

Give your office some style with Modern Office Revisited
I am a sucker for office products...especially sticky-notes. The people at my work know this and often shower me with sticky-notes from their travels. I have flip-flop shaped stickies and hibiscus shaped stickies. I have stickies in the shapes of stars and hearts and flowers. I have sticky notes with jelly beans on them and sticky notes with photos of yarn on them. I even have some with my initial on them.
With this amount of sticky notes in my office, you'd think it would be very easy for me to resist buying myself some new sticky notes. That was until I found Anne Taintor's Modern Office Revisited notepads (including the Sticky Notes collection). I am particularly fond of my sticky notes that say "someone called....about something" that are in a lovely shade of pink. Because I couldn't resist I also bought the pack that says "she was comforted by the knowledge that they were helpless without her" which I found out to be oh so true when I got back from my recent week-long vacation. As well as the very apropos notepad stating "I dreamed my whole desk was clean."
I will be the first to admit that these notepads and sticky notes are the teensiest bit on the expensive side...but they make me smile so much that it is totally worth the extra dollar or two. Not to mention the fact that they could make great gifts. My next order from them will be the Fancy File Folders because who can hate filing in these folders? Not me.

Bitter With Baggage Seeks Same

Tired of boring, polite notecards? Take a peep at these brilliant cards reflecting The Life And Times Of Some Chickens. Taken from the book of the same name, the note cards show the fluffy chickens in four dioramas, commenting on modern feathered life ("Maude was peeved. Her 3:30 yoga class was full again. Didn't anybody work in this town?") These utterly unique, sweet yet sassy cards will put a smile on anyone's face if they get one from you in the snail mail.

Things you do that really piss me off
You know sometimes people piss me off so bad that I can't even get the words out (either that, or it's just not worth my breath!). During times like these I just grab my Things You Do That Piss Me Off pad and go to town.
Of course, as I'm searching the choices for the specific act that pisses me off, I inevitably find a few other things on the list that apply. Tick, tick, tick, I sign my name and drop it in their in box. Then I feel oh so much better.
A few of my favorite annoyances on the list:
- pick your butt
- vote republican
- exist

Fool 'em with Toasted Notes
Here's a great April Fool's Day gift: Toasted Notes!
It looks like a slice of toast with butter on your desk...or your boss's desk, but it's really post-it notes!
Better than filling the sugar bowl with salt or the salt shaker with sugar ;)

Crane's the word
Crane's the word for stationery, don'tcha know? I have realized this as I research wedding invitations and stationery.
It's not just the name (although the name does speak for itself) - it's the quality. Have you ever received a Crane's card? If you have, you know the difference - the way it feels, the weight, the quality. Pure perfection.
And, totally not out of your price range. Check out my favorite Button Flower Thank You Notes. Very affordable - only $15 for 10 cards.
Receive a limited edition exclusive note with any purchase while supplies last. The set will automatically be added to your order while supplies last.
Free Ground shipping on orders $75.00 and over until May 30, 2008.
