ClippyKit - a hand bag that is uniquely you
I enjoy making things. I especially love to crochet and make homemade cards, but really I enjoy anything that allows me to express myself creatively. However, time doesn't alway allow me to indulge in the crafts. Then I was introduced to ClippyKits!
What is a ClippyKit you ask? Well simply put, it's a clear vinyl bag equipped with clear pockets where you can put just about anything you want - your imagination's the limit. One side of mine holds some of my favorite pictures. The other side holds souvenirs such as concert tickets and movie stubs.
Putting together my first bag took no time at all, and I'm already to make another with a different color fabric liner. I may even thinking of making one for my pregnant sister-in-law with ultrasound pictures and pictures of my niece/nephew after the baby is born. Really, the possibilities with the ClippyKit are endless...and evolving. You could change your bag to go with the season or just on whimsy! I already have a couple of ideas for mine.

Swag Bag With Style
I'm not a fan of the word "swag" itself - it just isn't very pretty, now, is it? - but the whole concept of "free" stuff makes it easier to take. Who doesn't love free stuff? Party favors? Door prizes? I'm in, with the occasional exception for that which is truly useless or just not my thing.
This summer at the BlogHer conference, I hit the jackpot, just for showing up. I got a Casauri laptop tote bag, quite simply one of the most functional and attractive accessories I have ever owned, courtesy of AOL Body. (They want me to "blog on the go". Get it? Anyway, thanks AOL Body. Got it covered.) 
Function is admittedly my priority in this case. My MacBook Pro goes most places with me now that I've gone back to graduate school. These babies aren't cheap - and the information I have stored on it is priceless. Still, most of the bags I found, even in the hip Mac universe, were unattractive, or still too heavy, or both.
The Casauri bag is an excellent solution that doesn't require me to sacrifice style on any level.
This is no surprise, because sisters and co--founders Helena and Emily McHugh are behind the line. Helena is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology and Emily hatched the business plan as a project at Columbia University's Business School. One of their bags was the first laptop case ever sold at the MoMA Design Store in New York. Not a bad place to break new ground.
I can't find the exact bag I now carry anywhere online, so it might have been a discontinued or limited-edition item. It has a generously padded inner pocket for my computer, as well as ample room for my charger and even my cell phone and a notebook. It's still made of material lightweight enough to keep it easy on my back, as long as I don't give in to the urge to stuff more of my, er, stuff in it! The other options look equally user-friendly, and I'm especially loving the stripe patterns.

No more makeup meltdowns! Thanks IcyBag!
I live in the South, where it can get ungodly hot in the summer. Even in the winter, the inside of a car can heat up, causing one to drive around with their windows down in 40 degree weather. In the past, if I need to pack makeup in my car for traveling or touch-ups, I had to pack it all in a lunch cooler so it doesn't melt.

Save the earth with this Earth Friendly Tote - one plastic bag at a time
Ever since I saw An Inconvenient Truth
I leave it in my car, and whenever I hop into a store (which happens, like, ALL THE TIME!) I roll it up and stick in my purse. When the time comes for my purchases to go into a plastic shopping bag, I whip this baby out and decline the shopping bag. While it puts one less plastic shopping bag out there in the earth, it's much sturdier and larger than most shopping bags and even better - I'm not adding to that annoying bag of plastic bags that live in the closet.
