It's just like Gloves in a Bottle!
The best way to combat dry hands it to slather them with lotion and wear gloves overnight. Or so I've heard. But have you tried to do this? I'm sure I'm not the only one who ended up ripping off hot, moist gloves in the middle of the night.
For soft hands without the gloves, check out Gloves in a Bottle. Every night for a week, I applied this lotion to my hands before bed and pretty soon my hands felt much softer. I had to wonder why. Here's what is says on GlovesinaBottle.com:
Unlike artificial moisturizers, Gloves In A Bottle is a shielding lotion that bonds with the outermost layer of skin cells to turn it into what works like an invisible pair of gloves.I'm convinced. Grab a bottle today on GlovesinaBottle.com or find a store in your area - I've found it at both Brooks/Rite Aid and Walgreens.
These "invisible gloves" prevent dry skin by helping to keep moisture-robbing irritants out while better retaining your skin's own natural moisture, resulting in skin that is far better hydrated, over the long term, than what can ever be achieved by conventional lotions.

Think drinking chocolate is the same as hot cocoa? Think again!
According to About.com"Drinking Chocolates" are made from real chocolate as opposed to "Hot Cocoa" which is made from cocoa powder (the powdery remains of chocolate liquor after cocoa butter is removed). When you purchase a package of drinking chocolate it will often be in the form of chocolate shavings or chunks. As a chocolate lover, I'm pretty ashamed to admit that the first time I ever heard of drinking chocolate was either a) when Janet brought me some back from Paris or b) when Starbucks launched Chantico, a drinking chocolate-type drink. But once I did discover it I fell fast in love.
Drinking chocolates are not instant like hot cocoa. You must add hot milk, cream, or water to the chocolate in order for it to melt and be whisked together. Because of the higher cocoa butter content, drinking chocolates will also be richer and often thicker than hot cocoa.
Of course now I'm on an never-ending quest for the best drinking chocolate out there. Meet my newest best find: Schokinag drinking chocolate. I can't quite decide which is best - Triple Chocolate or Extreme Dark, although this dark-chocolate lover thinks it might just be the triple chocolate.
What does drinking chocolate taste like, you ask? It's nothing like cocoa - nope, think pure chocolate melted with milk. Not as thick as a chocolate sauce, but thicker than a hot cocoa. It's like heave n earth - the best comfort food, ever.
But don't take my word for it - head on over the Schokinag and try their award-winner line of drinking chocolates. You won't regret it!

Related EntriesCrack for dark chocolate lovers: Royal Dark Cadbury Mini Eggs
What is is about Cadbury Mini Eggs that are so darned addictive? Am I alone here? Surely I'm not the only one who can't keep her hands out of the bag. It's gotten to the point where I can only buy ONE of the little bags to keep myself from turning into a not-so-mini egg!
I bought one of the big bags once. Once! I opened the bag up, ate one, then another, and I swear next thing I knew the bag was gone! They are dangerous! One on my many guilty pleasures.
But you know what I found yesterday when I hit the local CVS for an emergency chocolate fix? ROYAL DARK Cadbury Mini Eggs! I swear the heavens opened up, angels sang, and sunlight shown down through the drop ceiling and lit upon these babies. They were mine!
I was good - I only got one bag (on top of some Reece's Peanut Butter Cups, Lindt extra dark chocolate truffles, Baked Lays and a Caffeine-free Diet Coke. Yes. I did.).
The bag was empty before I got home. Delicious!

Related EntriesLUSH -- Personal Care Products: Deodorants
Since I want to get away from aluminum based deodorants, I took a trip to LUSH to give their deodorant line a try.
Aromacreme Deodorant was the one I tried first and I absolutely LOVE the smell! However...it DID irritate my underarms, possibly because I'd just shaved...or maybe it was from the chlorine in the pool. But it smells so divine, I'm willing to give it another try. Like one of the reviewers said: "The best thing about you is your good smell, which drives me to attempt to discreetly smell my own armpits throughout the day."
Aromaco: When I went back to Lush and said I'd tried Aromacreme but that it was a little harsh for me, the saleman suggested Aromaco. It's got patchouli, baking soda, chamomile vinegar and witch hazel and while it doesn't smell as amazing as Aromacreme, it does smell good (don't be put off by the fact it has patchouli as an ingredient; it's not an overwhelming, dirty patchouli smell at all). Plus it's cooling on the skin, rumored to sharpen the wits and even acts as an insect repellent. I'll be trying this on my skin during mosquito season!
Both Aromacreme and Aromaco are solid deodorants.Last up is Coconut, which is a deodorant powder that the salesman recommended and gave me a sample of. I tried Coconut and it does have a lovely smell, not overwhelming at all. I found it works best with an application of Aromaco first, but it makes a damn fine dusting powder on it's own.

Related EntriesWhat do you believe?
Does anyone else have a favorite word? Mine is believe. It reminds me to hope for better things, to believe in good things and a reminder (because I need one!) to believe in myself.
I'm a total chezball.
I also have a habit of cruising etsy for anything and everything that contains the word "believe". That's how I came across this gorgeous silver believe necklace. I added it as a favorite and went along my merry way.
Shortly thereafter, Buffy from B-Unique shot me an email to let me know my beloved believe necklace was on sale. That's all she had to say since, as we all know, sale is my favorite word!
I found it in my mail box just the other day and it hasn't left my neck - I love it! This picture? Doesn't do it justice - it's amazing! Go check out Buffy's stuff - she's got tons of jewelry and some creative cards, too. I love her bio - this line popped out at me:
"I love making things that make people smile."
Yes, Buffy's my new best friend and soul mate! Go check her out and support a crafter!

Related EntriesPlus-sized girls must shop, too!
Hey ladies,
Many apologies for the radio silence. I'm just back from an extended weekend away in fabulous NYC. Lots of shopping - mostly chocolate! Here's a review from my cousin Kerry:Plus-sized girls must shop, too! But with the lack of options in the mall, I've recently turned to finding fashion online. Enter the trench dress from IGIGI.Is there an item you'd like to review here at A Girl Must Shop? Just contact us and we'll post it for you!
After some hemming and hawing (it's a little pricey at $139.00), I finally just bought it. And I'm glad I did...it's fabulous!
The material, a polyblend, is soft and comfortable, but the shape looks sharp and structured. It's great for the office or even a more dressy occasion and its classic style will never go out of style!
The sizing charts on Igigi helped me choose a dress that fit me perfectly, shipping was quick, and with a little help from Google, I found a coupon code that saved me 20% on my order! I'll definitely order from IGIGI again!
