I could justify this quilt if I were single...
Or maybe if I had a pre-teen daughter. I love this Bloom Quit Set. I don't care that it's fall, the pinks and greens are so fun! Perhaps I can buy two twin size and sew them together? My husband would be thrilled *wink*.
I have recently developed a taste for quilts for two reasons; (1) I am over thirty and (2) designers are making them funky and cute.
Overstock (or as I like to call "The O") has a ton of discounted quilts, comforters and duvets for this upcoming chilly willy winter. O! and shipping is FREE on bedding!

On a recent Sunday morning I took my mother to the mall (she doesn't drive). She wanted perfume and I suggested we go to Sephora.
"Whats Sephora?" she asked.
*blink* *blink* *BLINK* I replied.
So I grabbed her arm and lead the way to cosmetic heaven. Her face, when she walked in, was priceless. Needless to say, we were there for over an hour.I took this time to try everything, poke at it, wear it, rub it, smell it... then I stumbled upon the Too Faced cosmetic display and started playing with their "Caribbean In A Compact" line and tried "Snow Bunny". Loved it. However, I think I loved the Teddy Bear Hair Kabuki Brush more! So I got both. My mother looked at me when leaving and says "why do you look so good!? I need to KNOW what you used!"
I have been using "Snow Bunny" for about two months not and get a ton of compliments. I also use it for eyeshadow!

Six handblown glasses raise spirits in a half-dozen world languages expressed in graphic red, black, silver. Salud, kampai, à votre santé, le'chaim, prost and cheers. I am a fan of CB2 because its affordable and the simplicity and uniqueness of their designs.

We've talked about licorice flavored tea here before (9/21/06: Make Tea Time Into "Me" Time With Aveda Comforting Tea Bags). I still love this tea but it's quite expensive, so I've kept my eye open for something a bit less expensive, and last week I found it!
Stash Licorice Spice Herbal Tea...ooh my! I was a bit apprehensive about the "spice" part, but my fears were unfounded. This tea is GOOD, caffeine free and delicious; it's naturally sweet from the licorice and needs no additional sweetening. I picked it up a local grocery store. Check out the list of retail stores or pick up your Stash online. If you like Aveda Comforting Tea, give this a try. You won't be sorry!

Related EntriesBye-bye ordinary lotion, hello Skin MD Shielding Lotion
What's so fancy about a shielding lotion, you ask?
Instead of just patching your dry skin problems like other lotions, a shielding lotion (like Skin MD Sheilding Lotion) repairs the outer layer of skin and turns it into a protective barrier so that moisture stays in the skin where it's needed.
I tried it for a few days and my hands really felt softer. I also used them on the driest area on my body (my feet) and was pleasantly surprised. I'd much rather use a shielding lotion that works to help eliminate lotions altogether. The best part? It wasn't greasy and absorbed amazingly quickly! Love it!
Skill skeptical? No problem. Head on over to the Skin MD web site and grab a free sample (just send a self-addressed stamped envelope OR $2 for shipping and handling). See the Skin MD web site for more details.
I've also found that a few local Walgreen's carry Skin MD, but you can find a store near you on the Skin MD store locator.

Related EntriesThe best jazz brunch in Cambridge: Ryles!
Patricia and her quartet are coming back to Ryles on December 2nd. Be sure to check her out!
This week is my fiance Jimbo's birthday and he got choose where he wanted to celebrate. He chose Ryles.
Located in Inman square in Cambridge, Massachusetts (That's right, pahhhk ya caaaah in Haaavid yaaaahd), Ryles Jazz Club showcases major, national, and local performers and they make one heck of a brunch!
My Boursin Omelette, with sauteed spinach, mushrooms and tomatos, was delectible! I ate every single bite. And the bagel! It's been so long since I had a bagel. That and a strawberry mimosa and I was in heaven. Jimbo had the steak and eggs and mimosa which was thoroughly enjoyed as well.
The best part of the brunch was the jazz, of course. We saw the amazing Patricia Adams and her quartet and I love that she smiled the whole time. She really enjoys her music. She came round the room to sing happy birthday (she got all of us singing) but Jimbo was shy so I didn't have her sing to him. He thanked me for that!
Check out some of Patricia's stuff:

Related EntriesLadies Start Your Engines (NASCAR clothes...for girls!!!)
It is no secret that nearly half (I believe current figures are somewhere around 40% or so) of all NASCAR fans are female - so chances are you have a female NASCAR fan somewhere on your list! Unfortunately most NASCAR gear found at your local stores are - let's face it - manly. Well have I found the site for you!! Track Couture is the brain child of Lisa Heros- who were disappointed at the selection of NASCAR apparel available to women. She started by making shirts for her friend and thus a clothing line was born.
Being a NASCAR fan myself I LOVE the Track Couture clothing lines. I can support my favorite drive (Tony Stewart) in clothing that is made for a woman (girly and pretty). The feature driver specific clothing (for instance Tony Stewart and Carl Edwards) as well as general race inspired designs. There is also clothing for young girls and infants (I will soon be picking up the I Am Tired onesie and matching bib for my nephew due in March).
They have lots more items available for that girly-girl NASCAR lover in your family (um family- that would be me!).

Related EntriesGive the Gift of Sustainability
My
mom works as a librarian in an elementary school and occasionally she gets overwhelmed so I help shelve books on the weekend. While helping my mother (a librarian) put away books recently, I found a book called Beatrice's Goat by Page McBrier. I sat down and read the story (I love children's books, so this happens often when I am helping). The book is a wonderfully uplifting and touching story of a girl in poverty stricken rural Uganda. She dreams of going to school but knows her family will never be able to afford the supplies to go to school.
This all changes one day when Beatrice and her mom travel to a drop off point for a relief organization (Heifer International) who gives the family a pregnant goat. One single goat changes the entire financial outlook for the family. The book details how the gift of one goat helps the family not only financially but educationally too. This got me looking into Heifer.org. Through their gift catalog you can give the gift of a goat (or even just a part of a goat if you can't afford a whole goat), pig, or even a flock of chicks or a hive of bees. These would make excellent Christmas gifts for the person who has everything....they have card inserts that you can print out telling your recipient about the gift you gave in their honor...and what that gift will mean to the actual recipient. Or if your prefer you can send an official Heifer.org ecard announcing your gift. This literally, is the gift that keeps on giving.

I live in the South, where it can get ungodly hot in the summer. Even in the winter, the inside of a car can heat up, causing one to drive around with their windows down in 40 degree weather. In the past, if I need to pack makeup in my car for traveling or touch-ups, I had to pack it all in a lunch cooler so it doesn't melt.
Thanks to the Icybag, I no longer have to do that. The bag looks like any other cosmetics bag, but is insulated and comes with a specially sized ice pack. Now I can throw my stuff in the car and not worry about it! It makes a great gift for the woman-on-the-go.
